Composite blades and struts are manufactured using carbon fibre/epoxy materials provided by TOHO-TENAX (Japan). The materials used is 130 deg. C cure carbon/epoxy prepreg with increased resin content to improve fatigue strength. Parts are made using autoclave cure using composite tooling. Full material traceability and quality inspection is introduced.
The PMSG generator is made with use of high quality materials - including aircraft-grade aluminium.
The winding on the generator lamination are on the stator, while the rotor ring is equipped with multiple rows of high-quality magnets.
TOHO TENAX (Japan) delivers to Axowind high grade specially formulated epoxy carbon-fibre prepreg for manufacturing of our turbine blades and struts, allowing for higher quality and reliability of the product.
Struts and blades are fabricated using high-pressure cure cycle and a proprietory technique.
After cure - composite parts are inspected for defects and conformity with the design drawings.
Finished parts (strut shown) are prepared for application of paint.
Painted parts prior to assembly are stored in dedicated racks.
Trial assembly of the prototype turbine allowed for fine-tuning of the assembly process.
The state of art Autoclaves are used for manufacturing the Carbon-Fibre turbine parts.
